Every winter, ice cutters in China’s Harbin city, brave the biting cold to carve and collect ice blocks for the annual Ice and Snow World festival. The event in the capital of Heilongjiang province is a winter wonderland featuring huge ice sculptures. But this year, a warmer autumn has delayed the freeze and left the city’s river ice thinner than normal. The lack of ice has affected the income of workers.
