The Victory Day parade in Moscow may have been scaled back, but there was no respite for Ukraine, with Russia launching another 25 missile attacks overnight.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said it was another desperate sign that Russia’s war is failing.
The breakthrough with the upcoming spring offensive will not be easy as Russia has built long defences across the frontline, and Ukraine knows success is vital for continued Western support.
