Former US president Donald Trump says the 2020 election should be overturned and that he should be reinstalled as President.
Trump has made similar statements before.
But on Saturday he went a step further, calling for parts of the US constitution to be thrown out if needed.
In his Truth social network post, Trump referred to vague allegations of “massive & widespread fraud and deception” and asked whether he should be immediately returned to power.
“A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution. Our great ‘Founders’ did not want, and would not condone False & Fraudulent Elections!” he said.
Trump lost to Joe Biden in 2020, by more than 7m votes and by 306-232 in the electoral college, a result he called a landslide when it was in his favour in 2016, against Hillary Clinton.
