A three-hour guided tour of a part of the notorious cave in northern Thailand that was the site of a daring rescue of 12 young footballers and their coach went into operation on November 30, 2023. The surrounding area of Mae Sai quickly became a tourist hotspot, reportedly drawing in 1.5 million tourists since the 2018 rescue in the first year alone. Part of the cave closer to the entrance had also been opened to the public since 2019.
