With Covid-19 infection surpassing 4 million, Taiwan is seeking observer status in the annual convention of the World Health Assembly, the World Health Organisation’s decision-making body.The upcoming meeting will focus on the coronavirus pandemic. Eight nations, including the US, Japan, New Zealand, Canada and the UK, have voiced support for Taiwan’s participation. The WHO will vote on whether to grant Taiwan observership on May 18.
