Villagers in China’s northwestern Gansu Qinghai provinces are having to stay outdoors overnight, following a magnitude 6.2 earthquake that destroyed their homes on December 18, 2023. The quake was China’s deadliest in nearly a decade, with more than 130 people reported killed as of December 20, according to local authorities.
