South Korean president Yoon Suk-yeol called for a review of the military’s response to objects violating its airspace on December 29, 2022, as the country announced plans to spend nearly $441 million over the next five years to upgrade its defences against drones. The move came just days after 5 North Korean drones successfully entered the country and exposed the South Korean military’s difficulty shooting down small aircraft.
