The electrical power system in South Africa is showing its creaking and unstable nature, with blackouts now a daily occurrence and lives put at risk.
The Government is considering calling a state of disaster as a way to end what’s known as “load shedding”.
The outages are provoking dissent and are putting vulnerable people at risk, as Sky News’ Yousra Elbagir reports.
