Sky News Australia host Rita Panahi has reacted to video footage of a man stealing $US50,000 worth of Apple merchandise and then walking out in front of a cop car.
The 22-year-old Berkeley man was arrested by police later and is accused of burglary, grand theft, and other offences related to the incident.
He is seen clad in all black and ripping iPhones from displays and pocketing the devices before leaving the building.
“We have featured many Californian towns that are in utter decay, crime-riddled, dirty, dysfunctional, and Oakland … (was) featured more than once,” Ms Panahi said.
“Remember this dude, Tyler Mims, stealing around $US50,000 worth of merchandise from an Apple store and then walking right past a cop car without any fear.”
