Sir Keir Starmer celebrated Labour’s dramatic West Midlands mayoral win by challenging Rishi Sunak to call a general election “as soon as possible”.
He said Richard Parker’s victory was a “significant piece of political history”.
Mr Parker scraped a win over two-term incumbent Andy Street by just 1,508 votes.
