One of the biggest issues facing Queensland is the amount of profit the state government is “taking out of Queensland electricity networks”, according to Nationals MP Keith Pitt.

“There is one retailer for the majority of Queenslanders, and that is Ergon, it is owned by the state government,” Mr Pitt told Sky News Australia.

“The federal government’s done a deal with Queensland, they could’ve asked for those prices to be reduced, and they can literally do it today.”
