Gulf leaders will meet in Riyadh this week for the 40th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
The six-nation regional bloc has struggled since 2017 when Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain and Egypt severed ties with Qatar and imposed a land, air and sea blockade on the nation.

Al Jazeera’s Hashem Ahelbarra reports on whether the Riyadh summit might offer a new beginning.
