Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says the federal government “doesn’t run” any mines or projects as the Powering Australia plan will provide support for fitting renewables into the grid.

“The federal government doesn’t run any mines, it doesn’t run any projects,” Mr Albanese said at the Woodford Folk Festival on Thursday.

“The framework for new energy investment in Australia is our Powering Australia plan.

“It provides support for new transmission where $20 billion is the centrepiece of it.

“Which is about renewables being able to fit into the grid, that is what we are actually doing.”
