From a hot pink cafe to a life-sized “Dreamhouse” as well as pool floats to Crocs, Barbie has been everywhere in 2023. A slick marketing and promotional campaign carried out by toymaker Mattel and movie studio Warner Bros has helped the hotly anticipated film Barbie open to a record-breaking weekend at the box office earning US$155 million in ticket sales.
