Its been a long standing proposal for the BJP. The stage was set in term 1 and it even made it to the manifesto. In term 2 with a bigger mandate.. the ruling party is pushing the one nation, one poll or simultaneous election proposal even harder. An all-party meeting the idea for one nation one election has been pushed again. 7 opposition parties have skipped the meet, these include the Congress, BSP, TM, and SP.
