Myanmar footballer Pyae Lyan Aung says he has no regrets staging a public protest that led to his exile in Japan. Just months after the Myanmar military overthrew the country’s civilian government in 2021, the national football team travelled to Japan for a World Cup qualifier, where the former goalkeeper was seen flashing a salute in protest against the coup.
