Sky News host Rita Panahi says there’s “absolutely no demand” for electric vehicles from people renting cars.
“No one wants them – they’re so cheap because there’s absolutely no demand from people renting cars,” Ms Panahi said.
“Why would you want to be dependent on some machine that you need to attach to a wall for 12 hours or three hours if you’ve got a fast charger?”
This comes as Hertz replaces its CEO after the car rental company reverses its bet on electric vehicle rentals over increasing costs.
His resignation comes as the company struggles with the higher repair costs and low demand for EV rentals.
