When democracy came to Myanmar, so did the tourists – more than four million of them in 2019.
Then COVID-19 hit, shortly followed by a military coup.
Last year, fewer than 150,000 foreigners visited.
Now the military government is trying to encourage tourists to return.
But the fighting is not far away.
