Malaysia has sent back 150 containers of plastic waste to 13 countries of origin since the third quarter of 2019, with the environment minister saying it would not be the world’s “garbage dump”. A total of 3,737 metric tonnes (4,120 tons) of waste were returned to France, the United Kingdom and the United States.
