Nationalist Congress Party leader Majeed Memon spoke to Tiranga TV on BJP’s win and Congress’ defeat. He said, ‘If people’s mandate is in favour of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, we must respect that and we must congratulate them for taking their party to such heights…When we were working during elections, we noticed people somewhere were not satisfied with the government due to some reasons, like growing unemployment, rising prices, failure on economic fronts, GST, demonetisation etc. Yet the results show that people’s sentiments were exploited by Modi and Shah. Pulwama and Balakot played a very important role. Congress, on the other hand, did not work as per need of the hour, so the results are pathetic.’
