In a first in the history of the Lok Sabha polls, the Election Commission countermanded the election in Vellore over charges of cash for votes after the President accepted the recommendation of the poll panel. And as we speak, DMK leader Kanimozhi’s residence on Thoothukudi is being raided by the IT department. Remember, the IT conducted searches DMK treasurer Durai Murugan’s residence on March 30 and seized Rs.10.50 lakh in alleged “excess” cash. The DMK is all set to challenge the order in the Madras High Court on April 17th as they cry vendetta. What does this mean for the DMK? How serious a charge is this? Is the cry of a vendetta by the BJP correct? All these and more on this India Development Debate.
