A Japanese company has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) system to monitor workers to make sure they scrub their hands properly. Developed by Fujitsu, the device can reportedly recognise complex hand movements and even detect when people aren’t using soap.The company, which had been developing the system before the Covid-19 pandemic, says it is seeing a surge in interest from the health care, hotel and food industries, as businesses implement stronger hygiene measures to prevent coronavirus infections.(Photo: Reuters)
