Jack Teixeira has appeared in a Boston court for allegedly leaking confidential US defence and intelligence documents.
The files included confidential information about the war in Ukraine and other national security issues.
The 21-year-old – who had top-secret clearance – faces 15 years in prison if he’s found guilty on all counts.
According to US Attorney General Merrick Garland, Mr Teixeira was arrested “without incident” in connection with “the investigation into alleged unauthorised removal, retention, and transmission of classified national defence information”.
