The Vietnamese government has launched an investigation into the company organising Blackpink’s tour weeks ahead of the K-pop group’s first concert in Hanoi. Local officials said on July 6, 2023, that the inquiry followed complaints from Blackpink fans about the organiser’s website, showing a controversial map including China’s claims in the South China Sea marked by a nine-dash line. China and Vietnam both claim parts of the region, including the disputed Spratly Islands.
