ICC World Cup 2019: Michael Vaugan slammed ICC over tweet on Virat Kohli – Despite the men in blue thrashing South Africa in their maiden world cup match in Southampton yesterday, a huge controversy is brewing on twitter over Indian captain Virat Kohli. The row started after ICC paid a tribute to India skipper Virat Kohli with an illustration. ICC yesterday tweeted a painting of Kohli seated on a throne, wearing an extraordinary cloak with ICC logo and a bejewelled crown. Though hours after the tweet, former England captain Michael Vaugan was one of such fans who questioned ICC’s ‘impartiality’. However, ICC answered him and others who had criticised them with three snapshots. These snapshots show Virat Kohli at top of ODI players’ rankings and test players’ ranking as well as a picture celebrating his hat-trick of wins at the ICC awards.
