There are hopes the truce between Israel and Hamas could be extended, with talks being held in Qatar about a possible new deal.

US president Joe Biden said that allowing the conflict to continue in Gaza would “give Hamas what they seek”.

Israel says it’s received a list of hostages held in Gaza who could be released later on Wednesday, on the sixth day of the current truce.

On Tuesday, 12 more hostages were released by Hamas and Israel freed 30 more Palestinian prisoners.
