Heavy rainfall in India’s capital New Delhi and neighbouring districts on July 26, 2023, has sparked evacuations, school closures and caused farm damage. As the water level of the Hindon River rose, agricultural land and village homes were submerged. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for New Delhi for July 27.
