Iconic family-run cafe The Baker’s Oven will be forced to close its doors next week, as their landlord, the New South Wales government, is ending their lease.
“It seems that we’re just not good enough for the place anymore … now that we’re starting to get a little bit of traction, it just seems ‘ok, on your bike’,” The Baker’s Oven owner Chris Kriketos told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“It’s very sad … they don’t actually know what it’s like to get up 4am every morning to work your backside off seven days a week.
“It’s very heartbreaking.”
