The Chancellor, Rishi Sunak has said the government is to announce in the coming week its decision on whether to relax the 2 metre social distancing rule in England.

Boris Johnson is facing pressure from his backbenchers and the hospitality industry to ease restrictions in order to help businesses.

However the government’s scientific advisers say that 1 metre separation from someone with the virus may carry be 10 time more risky than being 2 metres apart.

Meanwhile the Spanish Foreign Minister has told the BBC that British citizens will be allowed to visit the country from tomorrow, without the need to self-isolate for two weeks on arrival.
