Sky News host Cory Bernardi says cricket and gymnastics have taken a “giant step back” by allowing transgender athletes to compete in women’s competitions.

Transgender and gender-diverse individuals will be allowed to choose the uniforms and the competitions that best suit their gender identity under a new set of guidelines released by Gymnastics Australia.

Meanwhile, Canadian transgender cricketer Danielle McGahey was named in the squad for a qualifying tournament for the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup.

Mr Bernardi discussed this issue with Sky News contributor Nicolle Flint.
