Young Thai activists have emerged from the 2020 protests to run for political office in Thailand’s general election on May 14, 2023. Among the candidates taking part are Chonticha “Lookkate” Jangrew and Piyarat “Toto” Chongthep, who are both representing the progressive Move Forward Party, which is campaigning for the most radical reform agenda in the country. Facing strong rivals from established parties, the activists are hoping to shake Thailand’s political landscape by counting on the younger generation.
