President Donald Trump will name CNBC contributor and media analyst, Larry Kudlow, as the next head of the White House National Economic Council, replacing Gary Cohn. Cohn stepped down from the role over disagreements with Trump’s decision to impose tariffs on steel and aluminum imports. CNBC reports Kudlow said, ‘I’ve known him and interviewed him for over 20 years. I’m very comfortable with him and I can’t wait to start.’ White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said, “We will have to work to have an orderly transition and will keep everyone posted on the timing of him officially assuming the role.”
