David Jolicoeur, a founding member of the pioneering hip hop trio De La Soul, has died aged 54, US media have reported. No cause of death has been given for the rapper, who went by the stage name Trugoy the Dove. He died yesterday. His birthday was last September.

David Jude Jolicoeur, also known under the stage name Trugoy the Dove and Dave, was an American rapper, producer, and one third of the hip hop group De La Soul. Jolicoeur was also a member of the Spitkicker collective. He was widely recognized for his rap in the second verse of the Gorillaz song “Feel Good Inc.”
