An American citizen quarantined on the Diamond Princess cruise ship moored in #Yokohama port said that he will be evacuated to a US Air Force base in California on Sunday.
Spencer Fehrenbacher, American residing in Canada, said on Saturday that he was informed by the US embassy in Tokyo “that the US government will be sending two airplanes tomorrow to evacuate any US citizen or permanent resident that would like to return to the United States.”
Fehrenbacher, who is on the 11th day of a 14-day quarantine on the ship, was further told that if he chooses to return to the US, he will “have to do an additional 14-day quarantine.”
