Lin Dan has called an end to his badminton career that spanned two decades during which he won two Olympic gold medals for China. The Beijing 2008 and London 2012 men’s singles champion announced his retirement on July 4, 2020, with a post on China’s popular Weibo social network. Known as “Super Dan”,  the 36-year-old who turns 37 in October, said his “body condition and injuries” no longer allow him to play at the same level as his teammates on China’s national team.
