In a BBC documentary on Putin and his relationship with western leaders, Boris Johnson says the Russian president claimed he could send a missile to hit the UK ‘in a minute’, with the former prime minister detailing Putin’s ‘relaxed tone’ in the negotiations.

He also describes his conversation with Putin regarding Nato and Ukraine’s plans to join the alliance. During his tenure as prime minister, and since leaving office, Johnson has remained one of the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s biggest supporters, visiting Kyiv since his resignation.
