BBC news on unfair housing list restrictions
14 Feb 2018. More than a third of people have been removed from council housing lists in recent years. This BBC investigation shows the effects on people who slip through the difficult new criteria.
I see this all the time in casework as a councillor and the 'local connection' rules are the worst - leaving many people with nowhere in London they do qualify, just for moving across borough boundaries.
I'm in this near the end on this talking about how we've recommended in the Housing Committee that the Mayor should help make things more consistent and close the gaps.
