Environmental activist Gary Bencheghib has built a home on the Indonesian island of Bali made entirely out of used plastic, including 35,000 plastic bags. The efforts highlight the island’s drive to reduce waste, as pollution from nearby households, businesses and even neighbouring islands pose a problem for the country.
