Some bakeries in northern Gaza are reopening for the first time since October. Many of them were destroyed by Israeli bombardment, worsening a food crisis when Israel announced a total blockade at the start of the war. While the reopening of some bakeries is seen as a crucial step, the risk of famine remains high.
