Ukrainian military pilots operating in the country’s east have voiced hopes that a decision by Western allies to provide battle tanks will open the door to the flow of aviation combat hardware to support Kyiv’s fight against Russian invasion forces. The United States announced on January 25, 2023, it will supply Ukraine with 31 advanced M1 Abrams tanks. Germany and other countries have also agreed to provide tanks to Kyiv.
