International health officials say they were very worried about the spread of the coronavirus in Africa, where many health systems had already been struggling even before the pandemic. Though many nations on the continent are taking measures to try to control local outbreaks, 43 of 54 African countries had reported cases as of March 23, 2020. Egypt and South Africa are the worst affected so far, and Kenya’s health minister, Mutahi Kagwe, said the coming two weeks will be “extremely critical”.(Photo: Donwilson Odhiambo/ZUMA Wire/dpa)
