On The Big Story, The Aam Aadmi Party government has decided to waive off water arrears of those who have functional water metres at home. The government claims that a total of 13 lakh people will benefit from the scheme.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal while briefing the media said, When we took over, there was an acute water crisis. We have overhauled the pipeline infrastructure. The Delhi government is fixing the root cause of compounding arrears that lie in the Delhi Jal Board’s inefficiency and faulty billing. This could, therefore, be the last such scheme. This is a big difference between this and previous schemes.
