70 meter high bush fires rage in Australia

Bush fires with flames approximately 60-70 metres high burnt in Mount Tomah, Australia on Sunday, 15 December.

Part of the Blue Mountains national park, Mount Tomah is situated less than an hour and a half from the New South Wales state capital Sydney.

Fires have been ravaging swathes of Australia for a number of months. Six fatalities have been recorded so far with over 2,500 buildings destroyed and over 2.5 million hectares of land burnt.
