Asian stocks have fallen after US President Donald Trump announced plans to impose steep tariffs on steel and aluminium imports.
The plans have spooked investors and members of the president’s own Republican Party with fears of a global trade war.
Trump promised to impose a 25 percent tariff on steel imports and 10 percent on aluminum.
