US President Donald Trump says he is not satisfied with a tentative border deal that only gives him a measure of what he has promised his support base.
He has sworn to build a wall that seals off the US’s southern border from Mexico.
Republican lawmakers have urged him to reject it, but doing so would trigger another costly shutdown.
Both Republicans and Democratic negotiators have until Friday to get the president to sign off on it.
Al Jazeera’s Kimberly Halkett reports from the White House.
