Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas has proposed a new international peace summit with Israel that rules out the United States as the chief broker.
In an address to the UN Security Council, Abbas said Palestinians had lost faith in the US government’s ability to mediate; abandoning a policy which had lasted for 25 years.
