The European Union’s chief negotiator has unveiled the first draft text of the EU’s legal agreement with Britain, on the country’s departure from the bloc next year. Michel Barnier says the agreement is a key, defining moment in the long and complex process. The British government has, so far, rejected any measure that would create a customs border between Northern Ireland and the remainder of the UK.
