American football teams will be fined if their players kneel while the national anthem is played.
The new rules, drawn up by the sport’s governing body, aim to end the controversy over the athletesâ protest against police brutality and racism.
In response to the controversy, the National Football League says teams whose players donât ârespect the flag and the anthemâ will now be fined.
They go on to say that players who choose not to stand can stay in their locker rooms.
