Japan’s famous Tsukiji fish market has closed its doors after more than 80 years supplying Tokyo’s culinary world.

More than 20 million dollars of fish is bought and sold – some of it at eye-watering prices – every day.

Many of the fishmongers believe the new site for the fish market is contaminated, inconvenient and unsafe.

Al Jazeera’s Mereana Hond reports.
