On The Big Story, Several parts of India are facing severe water shortage. The government has admitted in the Lok Sabha that groundwater levels are declining across the country because of increased pollution, industrialisation, urbanisation, and weak rainfall. The government says that it is regularly monitoring wells across the country and has found out that the levels have declined by 52%.
